Something that should never be overlooked is your oral care. According to Health Canada poor oral care has shown to contribute to diabetes and respiratory disease.
I took the opportunity to discuss just how imperative our dental health is with Dental Hygienist Kyra Hollington of Tree Top Dental and she explained all the potential risks that comes with improper care.
Most people know, however, plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that clings and builds up on our teeth. When plaque hardens it then becomes tartar, which then contributes to infections.
All of this can lead to problems with bone support, loss of teeth and even worse....if this bacteria travels from the mouth to the lungs you could be looking at respiratory disease, infection or irritate any other existing problems.
